A Garden Bouquet

Since we bought this house six years ago, one of the best features has been the back yard. The previous owners left us a nice arrangement of flowering plants. Such as . . .

peony peony buds

. . . two peony bushes . . .

. . . and a rosebush, as well as lavender and lilac and rosemary.

Poppies have been my addition, which have a tendency now to pop up in odd places. There are two or three in the vegetable garden, one in one of my lettuce planters, and I have seen a few seedlings in the cracks in the driveway.

The pansies I think are volunteers. I did not plant them, but like poppies, I’ve seen them pop up unexpectedly.
